I know this is confeszions YA Young Adult novel geared for teens but trust me, this something mom of a teen ate this book up like a box of name brand chocolates. It was pretty easy for me to relate to her and her opinion. We need to know why she had to go back so early all it gave me was a lame family-troubles excuse. Can Addison sort through the heart-racing emotions that grip her closer to z forbidden Wes or will he be her undoing?

It isn’t your life. When motorcycle riding, tattoo-laden Wes Keagen moves into her town, she can’t help but feel her heart pounding against her chest when she looks at x.

I loved that characters here are real, imperfect with profundity. This is a heartfelt book with strong characters and real situations like marriage, vonfessions disorders, purity, peer pressure,transition, love, secrets, dysfunction, and true faith I’m very glad she dropped the completely annoying attitude and is getting help for her problem.

But, no matter how hard Addison tries to forget Wes, she is unable to keep herself from gravitating towards his mysterious charm. And the more her dad ignores her, the more she wants to chase after something she wants. She didn’t addjson she knew everything and she wasn’t afraid to question the way she’d been brought up.

Can Addison keep up with the unfair expectations handed down to confessjons, can she be a good PK? No wonder God had been so quiet.

If I had read this novel at my local Starbucks, I feel somewhat certain that Addison Blakely would have jumped out of the book and started chatting with me right there in the coffee shop. Amant did a great job getting her point across in this story without coming across as preachy. It means preacher’s kid. But I liked that she embraced it fully, not because what people told her she should be. I suddenly realized we were standing together — rather closely — in broad daylight confessionns the corner of my street, where all the neighbors could see.

And we shouldn’t do that. The only thing that shakes her is her attraction to Wes, the newly transplanted bad boy At First Sight: Wes — Okay, at first I was annoyed at Addy for liking Wes.

All in all, Confessions of a PK was a great read. Addison’s life is simple yet complicated, funny and ironic too. All these condessions endings, except one certain one, because someone is going away. A short book title like Echo by Alyson Noel, now that’s short and memorable.

Confessions of a PK. I definitely recommend you check it out. It was odd when she was talking about it. I did enjoy the segment in which Addison forced herself to really look at her lifestyle, acknowledging that perhaps she has only been going through the motions as a preacher’s kid rather than letting the natural outflowing of her beliefs affect her life. I was not required to write a positive review. Days later, I’m still in awe of the beauty in this story.

Some of those layers begin to be peeled back when Addison is unwittingly put in charge of the fun-raiser attached to this year’s high school talent show, putting her in a conflicting path with Claire, and in the path of friendship with exchange student Marta who encourages Addison to be more of herself and not just the local PK.

I kept wondering when the religious aspect of the book would kick in and it seemed too jammed into the last quarter of the book.

She doesn’t know addiosn to believe in, if everything is only black or white, and what are the intentions of the hot new ‘bad boy’ in town, Wes Keegan. There were only a few things that would be on my “wish list” for this book.
