My biggest gripes are the fact that Beauty is so young well, she is technically over years old, but stillthe rape situation, and the instances of bestiality in the subsequent installments GAG.
Anywho – I still found the writing quite good in this book, and although the book has lost it’s shock factor for me now, I still found parts of the book raised my temperature a bit hee hee and I will probably put this book right back on my shelf in the basement to read again in a decade or two to see what my AARP card does to my opinion of this book.
A better version of 50 Shades. But this book or rather series, was written artfully.
I think I am just incredibly OVER the whole 50 Shades of Grey thing, and want to somehow put it out into the world that there is other erotica. Sleeping Beauty 4 books. Peeps who don’t mind BDSM and porn. Yeah I was pissed off at first because this is unbelievably absurd but as I got halfway through reading it. You seek some way to resist, escape. It truly left me saying WOW!
Why in the world do people LIKE this book? Audio 24 This series was my introduction to erotica oh, about 25 years ago. I have nothing against Erotica. There is some tasty material for reading aloud to an open-minded partner – with a sense of humor; it can also be rather silly. This book was mind-boggling to read.
Those same people will have a hard time comprehending that there are many women who have a deep desire to be dominated and there’s even those who have rape fantasies. We, the readers, are anchored to our own sense of discomfort, shock and taboo titillation through the conduit of Beauty.

There is an occasion when slave girls are described as raping Prince Alexi, but while they’re all princesses–or as Rice styles it, Princesses–in their own countries, they don’t have the same standing as the fully-clothed courtiers of the novel.
Definitely recommended and I can say that this is definitely a “Classic” of the Erotica Genre. But we all know we read these books to get hot so I doubt anyone is scandalized. So yeah the prince came and he doesn’t just kissed Beauty. My hesitance comes from knowing that these books is not for everyone. This is what Beauty begins to learn.

Well i found the books totally by accident at a bookstore at the time, and was intrigued by the fact it was Anne Rice and this so called retelling of Sleeping Beauty So my new eyes with a much stronger perscription glasses spotted that this book is pretty dated.
