I am probably a little partial because I truly appreciate the author of this book and what he grindfr done on so many levels. Science deniers tend to eat this stuff up though. So bandlrr time was not wholly wasted. It has been referred by many as the book to read for somebody starting out in neuro-linguistic programming NLP and rightfully so. This book is either 1 star or 5, pending further research on its validity. It turns out to be foundation for an established therapeutic model called “Internal Family Systems,” where consciousness is viewed as being composed of various “parts” or unconscious “sub-personalities.

Who’s saying intl is not credited in the book, and anyone who’s been to a Bandler and Grinder workshop can attest that they switch talking sometimes in mid-sentence without breaking stride. That structure can then be quickly taught to others to give them the foundation for that same ability. This is a fascinating book. Indeed, this way of ‘speaking with your unconscious mind’ is not unheard of in therapy.

The section mostly discusses anchoring in the context of overcoming fear in therapy, but it can be easily used in relationships, healing painful memories, negotiations, sales, leadership, and seduction. Another premise of the book is that you can radically change another person’s responses by changing your own behavior.
Bandler killed the mystique. This kind of reasoning drives me absolutely crazy.

It’s a great intro about NLP neuro linguistic programme by the father of NLP Richard bandler, as we all know that it’s agreat science and highly recommended to those who seek some series changes in their life! Not being able to see the demonstrations was a hindrance, but I still learned enough for the book to be worthwhile and to help me see where I need to go next. I’m afraid it doesn’t do much to disrupt the air of charlatanism that sometimes surrounds NLP practice — you get the sense that grindre majority of what they’re doing is just bog standard cold reading of the kind you’d get from a fortuneteller wrapped in a protective layer psychobabble.
