I have his Photographic Printing book as well, and his methods changed the way I printed at the time. What other viewers believe Gene Nocon to be saying about what can be achieved with the Cecil Beaton priinting done in PS as compared to the darkroom 3. That’s not very old these days.

RIP Gene – thanks for your contribution to the analogue world; you will be missed. Visit RH Designs’s homepage! I read his book on the subject of printing and found it OK. There had to be light to take the picture. I may have learned prrinting lot in our darkroom times together technically but I also learned the art of selfless action he espoused over all the time I knew him.

Another of his books, Photographic Printingwhich describes the f-stop method of printing, became a bible for the black-and-white printing industry.
The film is, however, a bit long for its content.
