The mod starts out strong with a great DM starter area with info and ability to change settings, but that’s about as good as it gets. Once you get into the main town and start the main quest, it goes down hill. The castle area is rather buggy and a lot of scripts just don’t work all the time.
A character with 21 dex can’t climb up a rope after six tries?
The Astral Plane makes very little sense compaired to the rest of the mod. Why is it there? Why should we portal there? Oh we just died, now we’re back in town again. The whole Astral Plane part makes the rest of the mod feel inconsitent.
I played this through solo with thone 14th level Cleric who reached level 18 by the end of the module. I played this with 1.
H4 – The Throne of Bloodstone
The module is well done considering the author is or to an existing framework. It is mostly HnS, but does have a nice thread of a story that does drive the module. The fights were well balanced, if not a bit tough at times. I did take advantage of the lone henchmen. I am just not a fan of it. I did experience a few minor bugs. In the layer Lunia, which I assume is a “good” aligned layer, the creatures were hostile, including 3 gold dragons.
I could have easily avoided and they were not part of the story and dispatching them did not affect the story or have any other adverse affects. blooodstone
The module have been designed that way, but if so, htrone is out of place. The first time after talking to Bahamut and then trying to leave Lunia the game would crash.
Had to backup to a previous save. May not have been module related. Also in the final battle, I experienced the “regenerating treasure” others mentioned in the old vault comments. Not sure if it is actually a bug or designed that way, but I figured I would mention it. Other than that a fun, well done module that the author clearly put a lot of hard work into.
