So Luke called out his brother and in the duel he accidentally almost killed him he was a terrible shot back thenleading to his exile from his family. A good feeling when I started this 14 hrs audiobook narrated by Rosalyn Landor a genre favorite but I’m must admit this wasn’t one of Balogh’s better.
Long story short, this book is about their marriage and how they mature not only in their marriage, but as individuals. The love scenes are integral to the story — not added on as an afterthought.
It’s a book I’ve kind of been hoarding, since it’s a favourite for many Balogh fans and I really love some of the books she was writing round that time for instance, the quartet that starts with Dark Angel. And the rest of their varied families.
He wears makeup, perfume, satin, lace and high heels, and carries a fan.
I’ve had better luck with her Trad Regencies, but even within those there are some stinkers. Your display name should be at least 2 characters long. The secret is not that awesome. Basically, she and Luke had grown up together and were in love.

He makes mistakes but manages to l I loved this book. But for her, marriage cannot so easily solve what is wrong in her life—not when a tormentor stalks her to the very doors of Bowden Abbey, where Luke and Anna must learn to trust in each other or risk any chance they may have for a happy future.
Those are my favorite scenes in the book. Chi ama i libri sceglie Kobo e inMondadori. LOL, I really did let it rip, didn’t I? I never saw an MC with so much heart as Harndon, try to convince everyone bapogh he was heartless.
He was so kind to Anna.

When he and Anna have their first child, a daughter, instead of bemoaning the fact that she is not the heir, he responds to the baby with total love and devotion and names her Joy because he is so happy.
The hero was very unique. After all, Lucas Kendrick is a Duke with a very large sense of family pride. And of course after finishing this one I just had to read the sequel – Silent Melody.
Although mine’s a little worn now, and I’ve had to place clear plastic ‘contact’ over the lacy bit to protect it. He is rather galogh, but at the same time, is a good husband for tormented Anna.
The whole thing is a mess. How to write a great review. So much that I managed heartleess warm up to him and really like him in the end.

I love Georgian historicals and this one was pretty good, although through much of the storyline you have this awful sense of angst. Especially Lucas, who felt betrayed by love 10 years before and so believes that it can only bring deception and pain.
