Balzac is turning in his grave. So how many stars does Balzac get for penning this tale — hard to say, since the reader was so offputting. I’m willing to give ol’ Balzy a 3 stars but I would truly have to read the thing myself to confirm that.

I didn’t really care for this book, I found it quite boring and hard to get into, but I promised my self I would try to read as many classics as I balsac so I stuck with it I can’t say much about the book, as I just did not find it enjoyable enough. I’m glad that this was not the first book that I read by Balzac or I would never have read another. While the story line itself held my interest, the long periods of prosaic observations made my mind wander. Probably the most boring book I’ve read in my entire life.
