This was one of the last books I read in middle school I was working through the library alphabetically: Dec 02, Greg rated it liked it Shelves: Such a dark story with so many things Rrilogy was unprepared to deal with at the time. Some fighting; battles against a vicious creature; men bet on organized fights between dragons. So a lot of people say there is misogyny or sexism in this book but the characters do challenge it.
I highly recommend this series. Common Sense Media, a nonprofit organization, earns a small affiliate fee from Amazon or iTunes when trilgy use our links to make a purchase.
Pit Dragon Chronicles Series
Families can talk about the Austarian system and how it parallels our own. The world sounds beautiful, but the characters are decidedly not. The books are set in the far future, on a desert planet called Austar IV, which has a history and climate similar to that of Australia. What’s that you ask? Of course, though he knows a little bit about dragons, he doesn’t really know anything about t It’s more than years since humans settled the planet Austar IV in the Erato galaxy, and training and fighting the native dragons has become the planet’s main claim to fame.

Well worth a read. The series explores the sentience or at least intelligence of the dragons and thus their unfair treatment held in captivity by humans, the dispairity between classes of people as well as corruption and cruelty in people and government all as side topics essential to what could be called a coming of age story for a young man named Jakken, a slave boy who steals a dragon egg and finds out that sometimes doing the right thing can make life an awful lot more complicated.

There were references to drug usage and prostitution. A note is sent telling Jakkin to meet at Rokk Major.

The capital city is called Rokk. If you are the person who loves dragons and hates the books where the dragons are evil and they have to die then these three books are the books for you: Most of the things that bugged me were related to world-building.
Be the first to review this title. After going to bars with Sarkkhan and drinking chikkar, a man dies in front of Jakkin, telling him to be careful of the Rebel Hideout.
Once a prison colony, the populace of Austere IV struggles economical, with many living in indentured servitude, but what does bring coin to the planet, are the dragon pits, where dragons ar My sixth novel about dragons, apparently a popular fantasy subject, was enjoyable and fun.
There is even trology love interest, a mysterious girl named Akki. A few days after posting this review it occurred to me that there is another merit to this book and potentially to the series. The only shelter they have during Dark After, is Heart’s Blood’s body, so they crawl into her birth sac.
Dragon’s Blood (Pit Dragon Chronicles, #1) by Jane Yolen
It is a semiarid metal-poor world with two moons. Heart’s Blood wins the fight, and trillogy tell Sarkkhan about the package. Then in later books the two heroes are “reborn” throug I love dragon stories but this series disturbed me enough to sell them back Which is something I never do It was a very difficult read for me and I’m college age.
The planets economy is based around these fights.
The Pit Dragon Trilogy: Jane Yolen: : Books
Silly sounding names abound. I like my worlds less meticulously and strangely described, or perhaps at least more smooth integrations of infodumping.
