This is certainly a classic that I believe people should read and experience for themselves outside of any required scholarly endeavors because I think that many of the ills, injustices and idiocies that Swift addresses in this novel are still, unfortunately, very relevant today.

Jonathan Swift clearly had a lot of ideas he wanted to convey and I’d be interested to read more of his writing in the future.
That was a part of his life I really, really wanted to know about.

I kept thinking about the MC’s wife. Lawyers, for instance, get blasted left, right and center. Extracting sunbeams from cucumbers, writing treatises on the malleability of fire, architecture built from the roof downwards, telling colours apart via touch and smell, clothing made of spiderweb-silk, spouting ideas about how words burn our lungs like cigarettes!
The second disadvantage is that my lawyer must proceed with great caution, or else he will be reprimanded by the judges, and abhorred by his brethren, as one that would lessen the practise of the law.
