We never get a single other scene with this servant either, which I feel leaves things kind of unfinished. Lynsxy one of Kade’s distant cousins and while Kade was unconscious for so long in the beginning of the book, the three trusted men had discussed the fact that he probably wouldn’t wake up and that they would have to fulfill Kade’s quest of rousting out his alcoholic relatives and restoring his home to glory for him.

This novel was an ok read. Is it, or are more books in the series coming out? I had an enjoyable time with this historical romance. She also reveals that she’s got a terrible temper but that her equally red-haired and hot-tempered mother used to dunk her in ice cold baths whenever she showed temper as a child in order to teach her to hide such an undesirable quality. Kade’s injuries left him blind for awhile so all he got to know of Averill was a fhe docile lass that took much care in nursing him back to health.
Poor Averill has been raised with the belief that she is unattractive, unappealingly smart, and must always, always, keep her temper in check. After this Averill waivers back and forth between being extremely competent and being a total TSTL idiot. I am surprised he stayed awake long enough to drink all lynsqy mead.

He is soon disabused of t Finding myself as puzzled as other readers that Averill was given the title of Hellionshe is truthfully yes very clever, very ingenuous but very much in control of her vaunted temper however even when she gets to the point of anger she does not come across as being more than normally out of sorts.
Hot — and funny. Jul 13, Rose Lunsay rated it it was ok Shelves: Inside that room, despite the fact that he’s literally got his arm wrapped around Averill and a knife at her throat, she some how manages to not only feel around but also pick up a freaking metal shield and raise it up to bash him in the head with it without him seeing helion coming. Lady Averill helped save his life, and for that Kade is truly grateful.
A break in the cliche – well and humorously done, Sands! I love how characters from previous books get to make appearances. I think we’re supposed gighlander think it’s a good thing that all the men now hlelion Averill as a sex object.
